Panthers Cheerleading
Panthers Cheerleading offers the opportunity for children ages 6-14 a chance to cheer at the Panther AYL football games from September-November, as well as the opportunity to perform at the AYL Super Bowl in November.
Our Mission: Offer children an opportunity to:
- Learn the sport of cheerleading.
- Improve overall coordination, conditioning and motor skills.
- Improve teamwork skills.
- Perform at live sporting events.
- Have FUN!
What the children will learn:
- Athletic cheers, jumps, and arm motions. Basic tumbling and movements.
- Cheer building, team stunting, and partner stunting (i.e., pyramids).
- Offensive and defensive chants as well as spirit leadership.
- Halftime performance to include cheerleading, stunting, and team dance.
- Spirit props, including signs and banners for the football players to run through at the game.
Team Plans:
- Black Squad - For age groups 6-9. Practice once a week. 1 hr practice time.
- Gold Squad - For age groups 10-14. Practice once a week. 1 hr 30 minutes practice time.
Practice Days/Location:
- Locations to be announced.
- August 14-October 30.
- November practice for AYL Super Bowl will be determined closer to the end of the year.
Game Days:
- Squads will cheer at 11-14 year old Panther home games. Road games may be available as well.
- First Game - September 5th. The league understands many families schedule vacations over the last weekend of summer. However, pushing the start of the season to September 12th would result in the scheduling issues late in the season.
Registration:
- To register for Cheerleading, select the "Cheerleading Registration" on the main page. The cost to cheer at all games & performances is $85 if you register by July 31st. The fee includes practice gyms, insurance, coaching equipment, practice equipment, and uniform. The uniform consists of: Shell Top, Skirt, Bloomers, Pom poms, & Hair bow. Uniforms will be sized at the first practice and ordered as a team.
