Recreational Baseball:

Unlike most recreational baseball programs, the recreational league is competitive in nature with a focus on player skill development, team concepts, and most importantly, FUN!  Panther baseball consists of 14-game regular season (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday games).  It is a highly organized league for children ages 5-14 focusing on fun, sportsmanship and the fundamentals of the game.

Recreational Divisions:  There are two divisions for children ages 5-14:

A Division:  For new or less experienced baseball players.

AA Division: 

AA National:  For experienced baseball players who are not ready or interested in the competitive league commitment.

AA American: For experienced baseball players who are not ready or interested in the competitive league commitment, but are looking for a competitive feel.

• AYL Pre-season Memorial Tournament.  Saturday March 6, 2010 through Sunday March 14, 2010.  The AYL Memorial tournament will be comprised of 3 exhibition games. There will be no trophies, results, standings or champion.  The intent is to provide teams with the ability to assess their team in a structured, uncompetitive environment in advance of the regular season game play.  The AYL Memorial tournament is optional to all teams.  The AYL Memorial tournament entry fee is $200 per team.

• Regular Season.  League games will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

• Duration of Season:  Friday April 2, 2010 through Sunday June 13, 2009.

• Games per Week Limitation:  Teams will play no more than 3 games per week during the 11 week season.

• Total Number of Games:  14 game regular season schedule.

• Makeup Games:  In the event of game cancellations due to weather or other issues, makeup games could be played at any time at the discretion of the AYL Baseball Board.

• Schedule:  The Recreational League schedule will be posted on March 16, 2010.

• Post Season Playoffs and World Series.  At the conclusion of the 14 league games, ALL TEAMS will be seeded for the double elimination playoffs. 

• When:  June 18, 2010 through June 20, 2010 and June 25, 2010 and June 28,2010.  No playoff games will be scheduled during the fourth of July holiday weekend.

• World Series:  The World Series will be a single game championship game.  The games are played during the week of July 7, 2010 and July 11, 2010.
