AYL Volleyball is making an effort to increase the numbers at our Kindergarten and First Grade level. At this age, the emphasis is on having fun while learning the basic skills of volleyball. To help insure this, scores will not be kept, matches will consist of three (3) games of 15 minutes, and the four players on the court will continuously substitute and rotate through each of the four positions.

General Information:
The Panthers participate in the Arapahoe Youth League. The league is for children ages 5 – 14. Teams are divided by age into five groups: 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. The cut-off date to determine your age group is August 1st of the previous year. At this time, the Panthers volleyball program has consisted primarily of girl’s teams, however, boys are welcome, and with the growing interest in boy's volleyball, we look forward to expanding in the future.
Like all of our sports, our primary focus is on having fun, while learning sportsmanship and the fundamentals of the game.
The season:
The season is an eight game season that typically runs from early March to mid-May of each year. Games will be played on Saturdays at the newly renovated SportsBridge facility located at 82 Inverness Drive East.
Practices:
Practices will start the last week of February, with each team typically practicing 1 to 2 days per week. Practices will be held in gyms within the Panthers’ territory.
Team Formation:
If you are new to the Panther Volleyball program and you have a desire to have your son or daughter play with a friend or with a particular coach please note this on your registration. Although we cannot guaranty it, we will do our best to place kids with friends, schoolmates, and so forth.
Once registration closes in January and the teams formed, your child will be placed on a team and your coach will contact you.
