Panther Volleyball Registration Closed
Thank You for your interest in AYL Panther Volleyball. Registration for the 2010 Season is now closed so that players and coaches can get their teams organized and practicing. Please mark your calendars and visit our website in October 2010 when registration opens for the 2011 AYL season.
General Panthers Volleyball Information:
The Panthers participate in the Arapahoe Youth League. The league is for players age five to fourteen. Teams are divided by age into five groups: 5-6*, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14. The cut-off date to determine the appropriate age group is August 1st of the previous year. The cost for the upcoming 2010 season is $100.00 for K-1, and $150.00 for all other age groups. At this time, the Panthers volleyball program is a coed program, and with the growing interest in boy’s volleyball we look forward to expanding in the future.
*AYL Volleyball is, once again, making an effort to increase the number of players at the Kindergarten and First Grade level. At this age, the emphasis is on having fun while learning the very basic skills of volleyball. To help insure this, scores are not kept, matches consist of three (3) games of 15 minutes, and players continuously rotate through each of the four positions on the court.
As with all of the Panther programs, our primary focus is on having fun, while learning sportsmanship and the fundamentals of the game of volleyball.
The Season:
The season consists of eight matches, and typically lasts from early March to mid-May. Matches are played on Saturdays at the newly renovated Sports Complex at Inverness, (invernesssports.com) located at 82 Inverness Drive East.
Practices:
Practices will begin in early March, or as soon as gym space becomes available in the Littleton area. During the season, each team can expect to practice once or twice a week.
Team Formation:
If you are new to the Panther Volleyball program and have a desire to have your son or daughter placed on a team with a friend, or a particular coach please note this on your registration. Although we cannot guaranty, we will do our best to place kids with friends or schoolmates. Teams will be capped at no more than 10 players so that all players have appropriate court time.
Once registration closes on January 31st your player will be placed on a team, and your coach will contact you.
In the event we do not have enough volunteer coaches to accommodate the number of registered players, your name will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which your registration was received.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Please consider volunteering as a delegate, a coach, an assistant coach, or a team-parent for the 2010 season. The Panther program needs your help to continue providing quality youth programs for our community!
